Spotting Scope
Instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your Bushnell
®
Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope, a versatile high-performance spotting scope offering an
increased field of view. The Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope offers hunters, bird-
ers and outdoor enthusiast’s 87 feet field of view at 1,000 yards, nearly
twice the field of view at 45x than any other spotting scope on the market.
The Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope features multi-coated lenses for exception-
al resolution, brightness and clarity. The Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope comes
complete with an aluminum and rubber composite design and flip down
lens cap and a protective case that can remain on the unit while in use.
FOCUSING
The focusing system is easy and accurate. Rotate the focusing wheel until
the image seems to be in sharp, crisp focus. There is no need to overshoot
or hunt for the correct focus. Once the image appears sharp, stop focusing
- the image is in the best focus with minimum eyestrain.
SIGHTING
Your Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope is equipped with a sighting line above the
eyepiece. Simply aim the line at the object and look through the eyepiece
and there it is!
ZOOM EYEPIECE
The Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope provides a magnification range of 15 to 45
power. To change magnification, grasp and rotate the eyepiece to the
desired magnification. It may be necessary to refocus the spotting scope
after changing magnification, especially when going from 15 to 45 power.
CAUTION: DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN THROUGH THIS SPOTTING
SCOPE AS SEVERE DAMAGE TO YOUR EYES MAY RESULT!
TRIPOD ATTACHMENT
The Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope has an integral tripod mount equipped with
a video-pin hole. If your tripod has a video-pin hole, align the pin and the
tripod screw to the appropriate holes on the spotting scope. The video-pin
hole will prevent rotation of the spotting scope on the tripod during use.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your Xtra-Wide
®
Spotting Scope does not require any maintenance beyond
occasional cleaning. With a cloth, brush off the outside of the spotting
scope to remove any dirt or dust. You can use a mild household cleaner -
sparingly - to remove any stubborn dirt on the body of the spotting scope.
Keep the optics clean; do not allow dust or water to stay on the glass. We
recommend using a camera lens cleaner kit to clean the outside of the
objective and eyepiece lenses. Follow the directions with the kit.
Do not disassemble the spotting scope. Unauthorized disassembly not only
voids the warranty but also may cause damage from the lack of special
tools and techniques.
